The National School Boards Association’s Council of School Attorneys (COSA) will present its Lifetime Achievement Award to Martin Semple on March 24, 2017. The award will be given in Semple’s home town, Denver, Colorado, at the morning general session of COSA’s 2017 School Law Seminar. Semple is a founding partner of Semple, Farrington & Everall, P.C., Denver.
Semple has represented school districts in Colorado for nearly 40 years. He served on the COSA Board of Directors from 1992-2003, chairing the Board in 2000. A few of the many COSA members who nominated Semple for the award will offer remarks at the awards presentation Friday, March 24 at the Sheraton Denver Downtown.
“We are proud to honor Martin for his years of service to our organization, and to the school law community at large,” said Andy Sanchez, COSA’s Chair. “Martin has served COSA at all levels. He has presented at COSA seminars, authored several articles for COSA publications, and he continues offering wise counsel to our school law colleagues in his area of specialty, labor and employment.”
Semple noted, “I strongly believe that I’ve gained much more from COSA than I have given. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunities for collegial collaboration and professional growth COSA has given me. I am truly honored to receive this award.”
“Martin has been supporting the work of school attorneys and the school boards they serve, through COSA, for years,” continued Sanchez. “Our members have reaped the benefit of his wisdom and knowledge, and we are so pleased to be able to offer him a small token of our appreciation.”
