Registration is open for this annual event and COSA's accomplished practitioners will present on school board meetings, artificial intelligence in employment actions, student gender rights, AI and ethics, the national school law update, and more. .
COSA’s 2023 Fall School Law Seminar provided school lawyers with timely, valuable resources to make informed decisions for their districts. This seminar provided four afternoons of online sessions allowing attendees to customize their professional development by purchasing daily sessions on topics of interest or the entire conference. We established a financial hardship policy for attorneys who are unable to participate due to financial reasons but are interested in our course offerings. As employee stress, burnout, and workplace violence dominate blogs and the news media, school district employers are left wondering what their options are to deal with the issues they see happening in their workforces. This presentation walks through signs to look for, what options are when you fear an employee can no longer perform the essential functions of their job due to a mental health issue, or, worse yet, you fear someone may pose a direct threat to themselves or others.
